New Hangar 9 in airport of Linate
F&M Ingegneria was responsible for the design of the New Hangar 9 of about 3.000 sqm (dimensions of 67×44 m; the facade is 18 m high). For the accommodation of an aircraft model type “737-800” or “BBJ-2w”, the hangar is 13.50 m tall. The structural top layer consists of two primary steel beams (length: 64,40 m; section: 1,80×2,70 m) and the secondary elements supported by two metal arches f = L / 7; the whole roof is supporting on four primary pillars of reinforced concrete, with cantilever scheme.
