The “Temple of Commerce” is reborn in Paris: La Samaritaine
After 15 years of closure, La Samaritaine, one of the most famous and oldest department stores in Paris, will reopen its doors in April 2020. A completely new version, redesigned by LVMH, which financed the works for 750 million euros.
The huge complex located between the Seine and the central rue de Rivoli will include, among other things, a large hotel of the Cheval Blanc chain, a swimming pool overlooking Montmartre, a Department Store, but also bars, restaurants, housing, offices and a nursery school.
The Samaritaine, managed by DFS (part of LVMH Group) is reminiscent of a concept store, with a selection of 600 brands, 40 of which exclusively, that make up a very French trend offer. “The largest beauty space in Europe and numerous highly creative niche fashion brands. We want to be a bridge between Avenue Montaigne and the Marais,” said DFS Director for Europe Eleonore de Boysson yesterday at a press conference.
F&M Ingegneria is following, on behalf of DFS, the creation of all the retail interior spaces and the management of the numerous brands that will be installed inside the department store. An important project and construction management task that involves a large team of technicians of F&M France and that follows the successful collaboration with DFS started with the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice.
