Executive design and contract execution of the rail link to Venice Marco Polo Airport
RFI Rete Ferroviaria Italiana has awarded the works for the construction of the Railway Link to Marco Polo Airport in Venice to the grouping of companies Rizzani de Eccher (lead contractor), Manelli Impresa and Sacaim. The executive design is by Lombardi Ingegneria Srl e F&M Ingegneria.
The tender is worth more than 428 million euros, also financed with PNRR funds.
The project is part of a strategy by RFI Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and the Italian State Railways Group to improve rail links to airports, encourage intermodality and increase tourism. The goal is to increase the modal shift to rail of passengers traveling to Venice airport via the new approximately 8-kilometer double-track rail line that will connect Venice to Marco Polo Airport
