New Tessera Sports Arena: the central ring of the roof has been installed, a crucial step towards the completion of the work.
With the installation of the central compression ring, one of the most complex and representative phases of the construction of the new Arena of the City of Venice is completed.
An intervention of great technical and symbolic value, which marks a decisive step in the progress of the project and anticipates the imposing structure that will soon house the new sports centre.
The ring represents the structural fulcrum of the future basketball court roof, with numbers that testify to the scale of the operation:
▪️ 165 tonnes of metal structural work (178 with assembly equipment)
▪️ 50 elements assembled with millimetric precision
▪️ 19.5 metres in diameter and 3.30 metres in height
▪️ Lifting to over 30 metres in height, thanks to the simultaneous and coordinated use of two cranes: a 350-tonne crawler crane and a 500-tonne telescopic crane
A complex operation that required perfect coordination between the various professionals involved.
The general construction management has been entrusted to F&M Ingegneria SpA, which is also in charge of operational management for structures and geotechnics.
Manens S.p.A. is in charge of operational management for the systems, while Archest Srl is responsible for operational management for the construction work.
Finally, safety management during the execution phase is guaranteed by GAE ENGINEERING SRL, as Safety Coordinator.
A joint effort that combines expertise, vision and technical rigour, at the service of an infrastructure destined to become a point of reference for sport and the community.
