The connection to the motorway at the Genoa Airport is the natural continuation of the “Urban Sea Road” which allows a direct motorway link and accommodates the projected volume of traffic. This work represents a significant enhancement of the corridor along the east – west in the west of Genoa and allows, at the same time, the reduction in traffic volumes on local roads in Cornigliano. The project involves upgrading the infrastructure to accommodate the expected increase in traffic from the port area, and from the new logistics area planned on the right bank of the Polcevera river. The project, which involves the construction of two separate carriageways of two lanes in each direction, includes construction of viaducts with multiple spans. In order to enhance the architectural appearance of the structure and give formal continuity to the different sections of the viaduct the structure is clad with a sinuously shaped aluminum lining.
