A bridge from the 1600, a ramp from 2026.

The first accessibility ramp of the City of Venice’s “Removal of Architectural Barriers on Bridges” project has been completed: the ramp on the Ponte della Salute.
Constructed from stainless steel and high-performance fiber-reinforced microcement, the structure is lightweight, removable, and supported by the historic bridge without any invasive work. The design consortium, consisting of F&M Ingegneria SpA and engineer David Zannoner, oversaw every phase of the project in full compliance with the protected architectural context of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute.
This marks another concrete step toward making the historic center more accessible to everyone.
