Genoa’s New Breakwater: a new milestone for a project that is reshaping the future of the port.

With the installation of a new caisson, Genoa’s New Outer Breakwater has now reached 1.63 km of completed infrastructure, marking a further step forward in the construction of one of the most important maritime projects currently underway in Europe.
This strategic project will help to enhance the accessibility, operational capacity and competitiveness of the Port of Genoa, consolidating its role as a gateway between the Mediterranean and the European market.
At F&M Ingegneria, together with Ramboll UK, we are proud to be contributing to this engineering challenge by overseeing the design of the marine works and caissons, carrying out structural and geotechnical analyses, and developing integrated solutions to ensure the safety, reliability and sustainability of the project.
An infrastructure set to leave a lasting mark on the Italian port system.
